Hello. If you are interested in learning what diabetes is, whether it is dangerous, how to treat and treat it, then this video is for you.
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease when the level of glucose in the human body is constantly rising, which becomes dangerous. 425 million people worldwide and almost 1.5 million in Ukraine are diagnosed with diabetes. There are two types of diabetes: I and II. In both cases, the production of the hormone insulin is disrupted, the pancreas does not produce it, or the production is reduced.
What is insulin? It is an organic compound that allows food sugar to be expended to our cells and to communicate their energy. When there is no or not enough insulin, glucose builds up in the blood and cannot get into the cell. Due to a lack or excess of glucose, a person may lose or gain weight, feel very thirsty and have an increased appetite. It also causes urination times, excessive fatigue, and wounds can involve more people. If sugar accumulates in the blood for a long time, it harms the support: the kidneys, heart, nervous system and vision.
But this can be avoided by being physically active, eating a balanced diet, adjusting the insulin dose so that the glycated hemoglobin is less than 7%. Learn from your doctor about modern treatments and types of insulin to achieve this goal. In the next series, you will learn about the types of diabetes that exist and what their difference is.
