Have you ever wondered what a Virtual School does?
Nope, it’s not a school in the cloud.
A Virtual School is actually a real team of real people - teachers, advisors, and education experts - working behind the scenes to promote the education of some of the most vulnerable children and young people.
While the Virtual School doesn’t replace actual schools, for children in care, or those who’ve been known to social care, it does make sure that everyone involved in their lives are working together to help them thrive.
For children in care the Personal Education Plan - is a regular check-in where goals are set, progress is tracked, and support is planned.
Virtual Schools also track attendance, arrange tutoring, support school moves, and make sure that no child slips through the educational cracks.
Here in Essex, the Virtual School is already helping hundreds of children and young people put education at the heart of their journey.
