🎬 Hilarious & Bizarre Client Requests in Animation! 😂
Working in an animation studio is always an adventure. Between creating stunning visuals and meeting tight deadlines, we’re used to all kinds of requests. But every now and then, we receive a client inquiry so offbeat and hilarious that it leaves us wondering if they’re serious — or if they’re just messing with us.
From bizarre requests to complete misunderstandings about what animation even is, we’ve heard it all. So, why not have some fun and share a few of the quirkiest, funniest, and downright weirdest client inquiries we’ve received over the years? Spoiler alert: some of these are just brilliant:)
🎬 Animation Clients Say the Wildest Things! 😂
“Can the animation be done by tomorrow?”
Client: “I need a full 2-minute animated video by tomorrow morning. I know it’s short notice, but it’s a simple request, right?”
Studio: “Absolutely! We’ll just time-travel to give ourselves a full production week.”
Sometimes we get these questions, and every message pops up in the evening or during the night:)
“Can the voiceover be in a language that doesn’t exist yet?”
Client: “We want the video to feel futuristic, so could the voiceover be done in a language that hasn’t been invented yet? But still, make it sound relatable.”
Studio: “No problem. We’ll just invent a dialect from the future that feels oddly familiar.”
“We’d like the animation to tell a story, but without any kind of narrative structure. Just vibes.”
Client: “We don’t want a traditional storyline. No beginning, middle, or end. Just pure vibes, you know?”
Studio: “o-kay.”
“Can you animate this 30-second clip into a 10-second video without losing any of the details?”
Client: “We need this 30-second video, but in 10 seconds. And don’t lose any of the details — everything needs to stay.”
Studio: “Got it. We’ll simply compress time and fit 30 seconds’ worth of action into 10 seconds.”
“If I order a 10-minute animation, maybe the first five will be free?”
Client: “I need a discount like that, it’s possible, right?”
Studio: “Ah, the classic “buy 10, get 5 free” approach. We’d love to, but our animators still need to eat and sleep!”
“I want the animation to look vintage but also futuristic, like if it’s from the 1800s and the year 3000.”
Client: “You know many animation styles, it should not be hard for you”.
Studio: A steampunk, retro-futuristic masterpiece coming right up.
“Just make it look like Pixar… but on a shoestring budget.”
Client: “It should feel like a Pixar movie — emotional, lifelike, top-notch animation. But we’re hoping to keep it… economical.”
Studio: “Sure thing! We’ll sprinkle in some Pixar magic dust and adjust it to budget mode.”
“Can we revise the entire script and storyboard after the animation is finished?”
Client: “After seeing the final animation, we have some new ideas. Can we go back and change the story?”
Studio: Please don’t write to us again.
“We want realistic facial expressions… on our animal characters.”
Client: “We’d like our animals to express emotions in a very human way — but they still need to look like animals.
Studio: Well, I don’t know what to say. We’ll attach a human smile, okay?
“Can you make the AI animation look more… human?”
Client: “We’ve been working with an AI animator, but the results are, well, a bit too AI. Can you just, you know, make it look more human?”
Studio: Sure-sure.
“Can you give the AI characters some flaws?”
Client: “I’ve created some characters with AI, but everything looks too perfect. Can we add some flaws, like wobbly legs or mismatched shoes?”
Studio: “Abso-freking-lutely! We’ll give them all the quirks — maybe a character trips over their own feet or struggles with basic coordination.
Summary
Some requests we get come from simple things: client’s don’t understand how the animation studio works and what their limits are. Some think that we can instantly turn around complex animations in record time, while others believe we can imbue AI-generated content with the nuances of human emotion. Sky’s the limit!
Clients might envision grand ideas that merge the lines between reality and fantasy, expecting us to work magic with a flick of a wand. They might ask for intricate backstories for characters that are essentially pixels on a screen or request that animations embody both high emotion and laid-back charm simultaneously.
With a little humor and patience, we navigate these requests – after all, that’s the fun part of being an animation studio.
