Story: At Grafton Group, we realise that everyone is different and has something unique to offer. It is important for us to understand these differences to make the most of everyone’s talents. Our aim is that our workforce will be truly representative of all sections of society and each colleague feels respected and able to give their best.
Equality is ensuring individuals or groups of individuals are not treated differently or less favourably, based on their specific legally protected characteristics. Promoting equality should remove discrimination. Diversity is understanding, recognising, respecting and valuing differences between individuals. Inclusion is positively striving to meet the needs of different people and taking deliberate action to create environments where everyone feels respected and able to achieve their full potential. We will not tolerate bullying, harassment or discriminatory practices in Grafton Group.
Every colleague has a personal responsibility for demonstrating and encouraging equality, diversity and fair behaviour in their day-to-day dealings with everyone - including members of the public, our co-workers, our customers and partners. Where necessary, colleagues should raise concerns with their manager, or their manager’s manager. If matters are not addressed, the individual can raise a grievance using the normal company grievance procedure.
